Wordstream – beginning (again)

without comments

If it isn’t already well-known that I love Wordstream, I love this program. I’m about to sign up this new company and it’s an incredibly easy pitch. There’s a ton of money going out the door to traditional agencies when they could be getting that complete benefit by spending a pittance of that amount to have access to Wordstream. A pittance! So, it’s high on my list to change things quickly. In addition, the product has come far since I first began using it last year. The user interface is easier to navigate, there’s a negative keyword selection tool (speaking with Ryan at Wordstream: we couldn’t think of any other mainstream tool for this function. Is there?)

So, I’m starting from scratch with a new company’s PPC campaigns and they need a lot of help. To start, I’ll grab the log files from the IT guys’ dead hands, then go to Google’s Keyword Tool and enter a lot of the keywords that this company does business in as a secondary approach. This helps make sure that I’ve included a lot of the words that may be missed by the log files, depending on how extensive they are.

Also, I had said before that the tracker in Wordstream was one of the coolest features ever, because it keeps your campaigns dynamic and constantly adds new incoming keywords into your previously set up buckets. It seems that it’s not unheard to be able to add a few thousand keywords a month for large accounts solely from this tracker. Now that’s pretty cool and worth the price of admission alone.
